Bust out of that box, spread your wings, let your peacock feathers show full color!
I've found that one of the most fun ways to let myself fly free is through dance and allowing the music to shake my bones. The Navajo goddess Glispa reminds us that we can access healing through music. Chant, beat drums, stomp the earth and raise your hands. Dance with others or by yourself. It doesn't matter, just let yourself go. If your town offers Nia classes, I highly recommend taking one. Nia has taught me that it's okay to move my body any way I choose. It's okay to let loose, be myself, dance my unique dance without feeling like I have to impress someone. The only rule is, do whatever feels right. In Nia, everyone is dancing inside themselves, for themselves. They dance deep inside their own skin and beautiful muscles and bones.
It's perfectly okay if you don't want to dance in front of others. The point is, be your unique self, even if it means wearing something bold that you've never had the guts to wear before. Forget the images we're supposed to buy into. I've always been a bit self-conscious about my pale skin (I prefer ivory ;) but that's just who I am and there's no use trying to change that.
Be confident in who you are. Every bit of you is beautiful as is ♥
