Creating Your Goddess Year

1/29/2012

We're almost into the second month of 2012, but that doesn't mean we have to stop dreaming and refining our goals. Don't worry if your initial resolutions have faded. There's no time like the present to dream up new goals and work on the ones you've already put in motion.

I've been working through the 2012 Creating Your Goddess Year Workbook to help clarify my goals. It helps to have a place to write these things down and clear the clutter from my head. I printed out and pasted the workbook pages in this gorgeous leather journal I found at a craft store.

On the first page I got a little artsy...

It says, my heart drank beauty & grew wings & my spirit bloomed in the sky.

On the pages that follow, I pasted one workbook sheet on the right and the left page is blank so as to have a place to write, doodle, paint, whatever! One of the Goddess Year workbook pages invites you to clip pictures of things/people/places you'd like to invite into your life over the coming year.

So far I've clipped photos, inspiring phrases, and poetry. One of my favorites is, one wild and precious life.

'Believe' is my sacred word for 2012.

I'm still working on my 100 Things To Do list.  Some of them are already coming true!

I'm going to play around with this prompt today. What would your dreamiest day be?

Other things to do in the workbook:
♥ 2011 reflection
♥ goddess financial goal planning
♥ 2012 permission slip
♥ creating your dreamiest birthday

and lots, lots more. It's over 100 pages!

So if you're looking for an inspirational and creative way to shape your 2012, I highly recommend this workbook. And I even more highly recommend the Goddess Guidebook Circle. I have received so much love and support from this group of goddesses, and Leonie has so much to offer in the way of workshops, meditations, and advice of all kinds.

Wanna make 2012 your best year yet? You can grab the workbook here...

Surrender

There's a necessary dying, and then Jesus is breathing again.
Very little grows on jagged

rock. Be ground. Be crumbled, so wildflowers will come up
where you are. You've been

stony for too many years. Try something different. Surrender.

Prayer is an Egg

While browsing through the poetry section at Barnes & Noble last night I came upon The Soul of Rumi, one of my favorite poets. I opened up to "Prayer is an Egg," which is so appropriate to what I've been thinking lately. I'd like to share it here.

On Resurrection Day God will say, “What did you do with
the strength and energy

your food gave you on earth? How did you use your eyes?
What did you make with

your five senses while they were dimming and playing out?
I gave you hands and feet

as tools for preparing the ground for planting. Did you,
in the health I gave,

do the plowing?” You will not be able to stand when you
hear those questions. You

will bend double, and finally acknowledge the glory. God
will say, “Lift

your head and answer the questions.” Your head will rise
a little, then slump

again. “Look at me! Tell what you’ve done.” You try,
but you fall back flat

as a snake. “I want every detail. Say!” Eventually you
will be able to get to

a sitting position. “Be plain and clear. I have given you
such gifts. What did

you do with them?” You turn to the right looking to the
prophets for help, as

though to say, I am stuck in the mud of my life, Help me
out of this!
They

will answer, those kings, “The time for helping is past.
The plow stands there in

the field. You should have used it.” Then you turn to
the left, where your family

is, and they will say, “Don’t look at us! This conversation
is between you and your

Creator.” Then you pray the prayer that is the essence
of every ritual: God,

I have no hope. I am torn to shreds. You are my first and
last and only refuge.

Don’t do daily prayers like a bird pecking, moving its head
Up and down. Prayer is an egg.

Hatch out the total helpless inside.

Blessing the Ordinary

I used to have this Louise Hay CD that played in the car on my commute home (it got left in the car when I sold it back to the dealership - lucky them!). One of my favorite things she talked about was having gratitude for things like paying the bills. Who enjoys that?!

I felt frustrated about that very thing today when I took out my daily planner and looked at everything that's due next week.

Then I heard Ms. Hay's voice suggesting I bless the bills and thank God for providing me with the money to pay them. Not to mention being thankful for hot water and electricity!

So that's what I did - I said a small prayer of gratitude and felt better about putting my money towards those things.

What other ordinary things can we bless?

To Nature

I dig my hands into the earth -
my spirit aches for dandelions, dirt, rooted vegetables.

I place my hands over my heart, thankful for nature's blessings,
these offerings of misty mornings and kaleidoscope sunsets.

I reach out my hands to share these gifts,
just as God has done for me.

A Little Update & Hello!

_ Love warriors,

I’m so sorry I’ve been away! Time has gotten away from me, but I’ve been planning and thinking and dreaming and believing. I’ve just recently enrolled in an online course that, once I finish, will earn me my certification in holistic life coaching. Super excited about that and I’m learning so much! I can’t wait to start lending an ear and helping others realize their potential.

I’m also planning on redesigning the website a bit. I’d like to share more of my writing and keep you all up to date on my writing projects. Right now I’m working on a short story that I’d like to submit to The Writing Disorder. I haven’t submitted any work in a long time. This is the year!

And here’s a quote I found that is speaking volumes to me today:

Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.--Pope John XXIII

Be back soon!!
