A Peek Inside My Home

I always love when bloggers give their readers a little peek into their lives and homes. Strangely enough, as far back as I can remember I've loved looking at houses (sometimes even a quick glance into the window) and imagining what kind of person lives there and what they'd do on a typical Sunday night. Weird? Maybe. In any case, here's a glimpse into mine.

My boyfriend and I live on an island in the Philippines in a three-story house that is split into three units. Our landlord lives in the top unit, so we take a walkway down to our part of the house. The best part about this is that we're somewhat secluded, so it's quite, and we overlook the beach.

The balcony is a perfect place to laze in the hammocks, write, read or just daydream. It's also where we hang dry our laundry, as there's usually a nice breeze that comes through.

A lot of places in the Philippines are furnished, but I've added personal touches like my prayer flag and beach stones I've collected.

We also always have candles on hand in case the electricity goes out!

I find such interesting and beautiful things near the sea. Yesterday I picked up red coral, a black stone, and what looks like a piece of smoothed over pottery with the design still intact.

The kitchen is downstairs. It's a simple set up and we're looking to expand our kitchen essentials in the future (I'm debating on whether or not we need a microwave), but for now we have what's important. Especially a tea kettle!
